NARZISSUS UND ECHO

Ovid’s Legende von "Narzissus und Echo" liegt diesem Projekt zugrunde und liefert zugleich die Hauptthemen: es geht um Liebe, Begierde, Sehen und Hören, sowie vor allem auch um die Verwandlung.

Eine Zusammenstellung verschiedener Texte führt bis in die Gegenwart hinein und fragt nach der Relevanz des Mythos heutzutage. Das Projekt bietet zugleich den Auftakt der ILL Summderdreams Serie an einem Freiluftstandort, mit einer unüblichen instrumentalen Kombination und einer Dichtung die Zeiten widerspiegelt die so fern uns nicht sind.

Ovid’s legendary account of "Narcissus and Echo" is at the heart of this project and provides its main themes: love, desire, sight vs hearing, and above of all transformation. A composition of various texts leads to the present and asks for the relevance of this myth today.

The project kicks off the ILL Summerdreams series with an open air venue, a rather unusual pairing of musical instruments, and poetry that resonates from a time not that distant at all.
