Charlotte Bronte’s 1847 novel “Jane Eyre” is one of the most famous love stories written. Jane Eyre becomes governess at Thornfield Hall where she falls in love with the rich and enigmatic Mr. Rochester. But a dark secret hidden at the hall threatens to destroy both of them. “Jane Eyre” is both a great love story and, in Jane’s struggle to find true love and respect as a woman, one of the first feminist novels.
June Lowery’s brand-new stage adaptation is a physical and visually imaginative rendering of this classic tale. It will be premiered in Luxembourg with a mainly Luxembourg-based cast. The (Berliner Grundtheater) English Theatre Company was founded in Berlin in 1991 and has performed frequently in Luxembourg in recent years.
